We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our growing Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy service. Applications are welcome from experienced clinicians, newly qualified physiotherapists, and final‑year students seeking a supportive and progressive environment.
You will join a friendly and supportive team of over 20 clinicians and support staff, including Physiotherapists, Clinical Specialists, Physiotherapy Assistants, and administrative colleagues. Learning and development are strongly encouraged through a structured in‑service training programme, regular supervision, peer support, observed assessments, and access to subsidised external courses. Clinical Specialists are readily available to support patient assessment and management, ensuring high‑quality care and ongoing professional development.
You will be based primarily within our busy Outpatient Department at Five Rivers Leisure Centre, Salisbury, with access to excellent gym and rehabilitation facilities. You may also work across additional locations including Wilton Health Centre, Amesbury Health Centre, and a number of local GP practices.
Main Responsibilities
* To provide a safe, patient‑focussed, effective and evidence‑based Physiotherapy service in collaboration with other team members and actively contribute to on‑going service improvements.
* To assess, plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapeutic intervention and provide clinically effective treatment for patients.
* To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, seeking clinical support when required and working within sphere of competence.
* To provide a local Physiotherapy service in satellite locations as the service requires.
* Working in accordance with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Standards, plus national and local guidelines, policies and procedures.
* To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of work, ensuring a safe and high standard of care, and appropriate mandated record keeping.
* To ensure up‑to‑date evidence‑based knowledge and skills, with maintained competence in a range of physiotherapeutic skills.
* To contribute to undertaking audits, evaluation of outcomes, and formulation of and completion of action plans.
* To integrate with the multi‑disciplinary teams throughout Wiltshire.

Essential Criteria
* HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
* Degree (BSc or equivalent) in Physiotherapy.
* Completion of recognised physiotherapy clinical placements.
* Evidence of ongoing CPD and reflective practice relevant to the role.
* Experience treating MSK, respiratory, and orthopaedic patients.
* Experience delivering class‑based rehabilitation or exercise programmes.
* Experience participating in clinical and/or operational audits.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate clinical records.
* Ability to communicate effectively with individuals who have communication difficulties.
* Good organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
* Ability to apply clinical reasoning to assess, diagnose, and manage a range of conditions.
* Ability to work autonomously while recognising when to seek supervision or specialist advice.
Desirable Criteria
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP).
* MSK, community, or acute‑based training or experience.
* Completion of accredited training courses.
* Experience working at Band 5 level, including rotational posts.
* Experience working within the NHS.
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients requiring interpreter support.
* Experience working as a sole practitioner when required.
* Ability to independently manage and appropriately refer patients with non‑MSK presentations.
* Presentation and teaching skills to support in‑service or external training.
* Experience leading or supporting team activities where appropriate.
