Working as part of a small specialist team, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic person to assist with the day-to-day work of the team. This will involve dealing with complaints of nuisance and anti-social behaviour from the first point of referral through to resolution, including advising complainants, witnesses and perpetrators, investigating complaints and seeking informal resolution such as mediation, assertively challenging behaviour or taking legal action.
About the team: The main function of Environmental Health and Community Safety service is to provide a safe, healthy and attractive environment for all those who live, work or visit the City of Exeter.
The role is based at the Civic Centre and is suitable for flexible working, but candidates must expect to carry out visits to houses and sites within the district. Regular out of hours work will be required.
We are seeking to appoint an Environmental Health Technician to work in the small but very busy Neighbourhoods team. To be successful in this role, you will need to have knowledge of Environmental Health from studying for a related degree or have relevant experience in dealing with neighbourhood nuisance.
