Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MIG/TIG Welder and Sheet Metal Worker to join our fabrication team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in manufacturing high-quality metalwork, including bespoke staircases, balustrades, and fences, for commercial and residential projects. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for a dedicated and proficient individual.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine project specifications.
* Perform MIG and TIG welding on various materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, to a high standard.
* Execute sheet metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, forming, bending, and shaping using a range of manual and automated machinery.
* Operate and set up various workshop machines, such as press brakes, guillotines, and saws.
* Assemble and finish fabricated components, ensuring all work meets specified tolerances and quality standards.
* Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times, adhering to all company health and safety procedures.
* Collaborate effectively with the wider production team to ensure deadlines are met.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator and Sheet Metal Worker in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
* Ability to read and accurately interpret technical and engineering drawings.
* Knowledge of standard fabrication and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
* Experience with workshop machinery is highly beneficial.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Good manual dexterity and physical fitness.
* Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player.
Desirable Qualities
* Experience in fabricating staircases, balustrades, or fences.
* Relevant certifications in welding or fabrication.
Working hours and pay: 7.30am-4.00pm, Monday-Thursday; 7.30am-12.30pm, Fridays (38 hours per week). Pay rate: £15-£20 per hour, depending on experience. Location: Rugby.
