GSL Education are seeking a reliable and motivated Cover Supervisor to work with schools across Sheffield, including the S2 and S3 areas, ensuring lessons continue smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher. As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will supervise whole classes using pre-set lesson plans, maintain positive behaviour, and ensure students remain focused and engaged in their learning. Main Responsibilities: Supervise classes during teacher absences using provided lesson materials. Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies. Ensure students complete the work set and stay on task. Provide clear instructions and support where required. Report back to teaching staff on attendance, progress, and behaviour. Requirements of Cover Supervisor: Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Confidence in leading a class independently. A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one). What’s in It for You?
