At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. We have a new exciting and career defining opportunity for a Facilities Project Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering facilities projects at our Filton & Western Approach Sites in Bristol. This will include delivering upgrades to existing facilities, building new facilities and supporting our industrialisation team in the implementation of new equipment. You will be able to demonstrate a strong background of mechanical & electrical equipment installation project with a good understanding of civil engineering works.
How You'll Contribute
The Facilities Project Engineer Will Be Accountable For
* Project management and delivery of concurrent medium to large facilities projects, safely and within budget
* Liaise with and guide stakeholders to deliver project objectives and best value to GKN
* Prepare estimates and quotations
* Manage tender process, appointment and management of contractors throughout the project
* Ensure regulatory compliance in managing contractors, RAMS, PTW etc.
* Responsible for budget tracking and management of project budgets
* Management of process from customer specification to tender, contractor control and finally completion
* Proactive management of stakeholder communications
* Compile and collate final project documentation, 'As Built' drawing as per internal processes
* Ensure that all projects are managed in accordance with company policy and procedures

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
* Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment
* CDM Regulations Knowledge
* Sound Understanding of electrical & mechanical systems/ services
* Excellent planning, risk & mitigation skills
* Commercial & Contractual awareness
* Sound understanding of building & facilities infrastructure
* Microsoft packages proficient
Desirable
* An Electrical or mechanical HNC/ HND or equivalent is preferred
* IOSH or NEBOSH certification
The successful applicant will be a proactive and organised commercially focused individual. You will possess excellent communication skills alongside being self motivated and have the ability to work autonomously.
