Wolverhampton Grand is a long-established theatre in the heart of the Midlands. It receives a wide range of major touring productions including drama, musicals, ballet, dance, opera, variety, concerts, children's shows and one of the biggest pantomimes in the UK, with audiences from across the region and beyond taking advantage of excellent transport links to the city.
We are seeking to appoint high-calibre, motivated and committed
Trustees of the Board
from a diverse range of backgrounds, skills, and experience to join our existing members. This may or may not be your first board appointment, however you will need experience as a strategic leader from a range of professional backgrounds.
Wolverhampton Grand is a registered charity and is also a very successful and significant entrepreneurial company with an intense desire to constantly grow the business, an inherent sense of urgency, rapid decision making, and an 'open door' management approach.
The Board of Trustees are the highest level of decision making at the theatre, having overall responsibility for the strategic direction and financial health.
Responsibilities will predominantly include agreeing the Charity's vision and the values which underpin it, monitoring the implementation of the strategy and to support staff through the Chief Executive, to assist them fulfil their roles.
The role will also ensure that the Charity operates in accordance with company and charity law. This includes the filing of statutory returns at Companies House, returns to the Charity Commission and the keeping of charity registers.
Finally, you will also be required to promote Wolverhampton Grand, its activities and its aspirations to the private, public, and voluntary sectors to enhance the Charity's profile and assist with fundraising for the Charity.

We anticipate that the role holders will work circa 12 – 15 hours per month in and out of office hours.
This is a non-remunerated post, but the Trustees are encouraged to attend theatre productions for their continual professional development.
