Head of Cost Engineering – Major Projects Portfolio Location: Derby (3 Days per week) Salary: £90,000 - £110,000p/a An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and strategic Head of Cost Engineering to join a high-profile organisation delivering a multi-billion-pound portfolio of complex infrastructure and capital projects. This is a senior leadership role that will shape and lead the cost management strategy across a nationally significant programme, with a focus on driving value, consistency, and commercial rigour throughout the delivery lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the cost engineering function across a diverse portfolio of major projects. Provide strategic cost advice and insights to executive stakeholders and programme directors. Develop and maintain industry-leading cost estimation, reporting, and control frameworks. Ensure robust processes for cost benchmarking, value engineering, risk analysis, and change control. Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of cost professionals. Foster close collaboration with project controls, procurement, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure integrated and effective delivery. Requirements: Extensive experience in a senior cost engineering or commercial leadership role within major infrastructure or capital projects. Strong technical knowledge of cost estimation, cost control, and earned value management. Proven leadership and team development skills.
