Operations & Production Manager required for a leading European logistics company based in Wisbech
About the Role
This is a pivotal role where youll be responsible for driving efficiency, ensuring product quality, and leading a high - performing team. Youll oversee day - to - day operations while also shaping long - term strategy, making sure our plant runs smoothly, safely, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities for this senior operations manager role:
Boost Efficiency: Increase packaging line throughput, minimise downtime, and achieve OEE targets.
Quality & Safety: Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and HSE standards while reducing defects and waste.
Team Leadership: Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and line teams, building strong engagement and succession plans.
Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma projects to cut costs, improve flow, and reduce stoppages.
Resource Management: Oversee labour, budgets, materials, and inventory to keep operations cost - effective and seamless.
Customer Focus: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to meet service levels and support audits.
Strategic Growth: Align operations with business strategy, support new product launches, and plan for future capacity.
What Were Looking For in the right candidate:
57 years proven experience in operations management, ideally within a production or packaging environment.
Strong leadership skills with a track record of motivating and developing teams.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
Background in budgeting, financial oversight, and operational reporting.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and process optimisation.
Degree in Business / Operations Management, or related field preferred.
Proficiency in management software and productivity tools.
