Reporting into the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy and supporting Business Units to meet waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001 standards, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This role involves up to 50% UK-wide travel and offers hybrid working arrangements.
What you’ll do:
1. Provide specialist guidance and advice to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
2. Support risk management by establishing an environmental assurance regime, including audit programs, through effective inspections and audits.
3. Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
4. Develop and maintain performance data and generate carbon management reports for contractual and customer needs.
5. Ensure regular reviews of environmental aspects and impacts, including climate change risks, are conducted to protect the business.
6. Support project teams to embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Who you are:
You will have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within relevant industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum Qualification: PIEMA
* ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor certification
* Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice for business operations
* Proven track record of reducing environmental impacts of equipment and infrastructure across product lifecycles
* Experience managing complex technical projects and implementing improvements
* Full driving license and willingness to undertake UK-wide travel
