Job DescriptionJob purpose: To direct and manage all the procurement/ supply chain activities associated with specific Work Packages (including contract negotiations and contract management and reporting). The role includes the development of procurement/ supply chain strategies and plans, and the associated engagement and management of suppliers, projects and other stakeholders to deliver project/ business objectives. The management and development of team members to drive performance.Deliverables: Delivery of strategy, evolution and updates thereto. Alignment across impacted Major Subsystem Work packages (TCV £xxxm. Representing the Procurement team at key meetings (internal and external).Ensure individual procurement/ supply chain strategies/ negotiation plans/ make vs. buy plans for each contract are developed and maintained.Lead and manage suppliers to seek the best value for money solutions and drive on time, on cost delivery whilst maintaining Quality standards.Manage supplier performance through data (Cost Performance Indicators (CPI) and Schedule Performance Indicators (SPI)), ensure compliance with appropriate regulations and work with the suppliers to identify and implement Continuous Improvements/ opportunities for innovation.Engage and support stakeholders and the supplier throughout the lifecycle of the contract to ensure optimum performance and collaboration with other Work Packages where applicable.Identify and implement business improvements resulting in cost saving opportunities. Identify and manage risk and opportunity registers. Deliver mitigations against risk and realise opportunities.Manage the resolution of performance issues with the contract (eg. Populating claims’ database whilst actively protecting the company revenues).Manage supplier invoice queries and resolve in agreed timescales.Produce and maintain information on supplier non-conformance.Maintain a supplier database to strengthen the procurement process.Maintain technical reference files for all bought components and related suppliersReport on procurement key performance indicators (KPIs)QualificationsDetailed and solid understanding of Procurement processes and ITStrong experience in managing a wide range of services, commodities or equipment.Strong knowledge of the legal, import/ export and regulatory environments related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements within the defence sector (project specific).Maintain knowledge and keep up to date with defence sector updates and supplier performance/ developments (project specific).Additional InformationCompetitive base salary31 days holiday (pro rata)Company pensionLife assuranceIf you experience difficulties or are unable to apply for a role on-line please contact us at people.skills@harland-wolff.com and one of the team will be in contact to help you.
