The Expert Technical Business Analyst leads highly complex initiatives requiring deep technical and business domain expertise. They take accountability for defining end-to-end requirements, shaping solution approaches, and ensuring outcomes deliver tangible business value. In addition to delivery responsibilities, this role acts as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and a mentor to less experienced analysts, contributing to the continuous improvement of analysis practices. Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of complex, cross-functional business and technical requirements. Design and recommend end-to-end solution approaches, including system integrations, data flows, and architectural considerations. Provide technical leadership during discovery, design, and delivery phases, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic goals. Serve as the primary escalation point and decision influencer for complex requirements and solution trade-offs. Mentor and coach junior and mid-level Technical Business Analysts, supporting capability development and consistency of approach. Facilitate and lead stakeholder workshops, discovery sessions, and design reviews, articulating complex concepts clearly to varied audiences. Ensure documentation and traceability across requirements, design, build, and test artefacts to support high-quality delivery. Extensive experience in technical business analysis across complex systems and enterprise environments. Deep understanding of software architecture, system integrations, and data flows. Advanced knowledge of SDLC methodologies and experience operating in Agile at scale or hybrid environments. Strong analytical capability, with the ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems and drive consensus. Proven ability to influence technical and business stakeholders and support decision-making at senior levels. Experience leading analysis activities across multiple workstreams or programmes of work. Strong mentoring and coaching skills, with the ability to develop others’ analytical capability. Expert communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Proficiency with enterprise analysis and delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, modelling and reporting tools).
