Deputy Team Leader – Practice Education, Theatres

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Practice Education team in theatres, supporting the multidisciplinary theatre team through the facilitation and provision of education and training to maintain high standards of clinical practice and patient care.
Job summary
You will work collaboratively with the theatre manager, matron and practice education team leader to develop and deliver education strategies, utilise resources effectively, and foster relationships across sites to maintain a standard training programme. Your role will involve teaching, clinical duties, and mentoring to build staff skills and confidence in scrubbing.
Main duties of the job
* Be an expert in theatre practice with high standards and excellent clinical skills, able to teach these skills to other staff.
* Maintain a passion for teaching, uphold high standards, and identify when intervention is required.
* Assist in the promotion and implementation of evidence‑based practice.
* Demonstrate good communication and people skills, especially in high‑stress situations.
* Act as deputy for the team leader when required.
* Participate in clinical duties, working alongside learners to maintain your own clinical skills and to monitor or audit the competencies of other staff.
Person specification
* Essential: Current NMC/HCPC registrant; Practice Supervisor and Assessor completion; Evidence of significant theatre scrub experience; Evidence of ongoing continuous education.
* Desirable: Managerial courses.
