Purpose of Post.
* Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the centre of everything we do.
* Support the Council to ensure the best possible results for the residents of Gwynedd by providing information and data which enable the Council to plan and make effective evidence based decisions.
Responsibility for Resources.. e.g. staff, finance, equipment
Main Duties. .
* Develop and maintain Microsoft Power BI interactive reports and dashboards that employ best practices in data transformation and visualisation to create meaningful and useful reports for the specific needs of different users.
* Collaborate with other Research team officers to create reports and data analyses for the research projects they are leading on.
* Work with other officers within the Service and in other Council departments to prepare a framework, guidance and rules for Council staff in relation to the use and analysis of data, including guidance on the use of Microsoft Power BI.
* Assist in promoting guidelines and rules on the use of data to Council staff and managers.
* Administration and management of user permissions to the data dashboards which the Research and Information Service are responsible for.
* Collect and analyse information and data in order to maintain a comprehensive and current statistical picture of trends and needs in Gwynedd.
* Provide general, specialist and technical advice and guidance on data and analytics matters.
* Provide data or refer others to data sources.
* Contribute to the work of identifying and implementing opportunities for the Council to be at the forefront and be innovative in terms of using research, evidence, data and modern techniques when planning and making decisions.
