Renewals Manager
Based primarily in our Cheltenham office, this role requires monthly visits to our Colchester office and occasional travel to London.
As a Renewals Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering the vision and strategy for your branch or department, ensuring performance targets, service levels, and client outcomes are consistently exceeded. You'll play a key role in shaping commercial success while building a motivated, engaged, and high‑performing team.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading and developing a team to create a strong performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Owning day‑to‑day trading and operational performance, ensuring SLAs, income, and profitability targets are met or exceeded.
* Providing high‑level professional insurance advice and ensuring clients are correctly and adequately insured.
* Building strong relationships with insurers and internal stakeholders to drive service improvements and growth opportunities.
* Producing and delivering an effective business plan aligned to wider divisional and group objectives.
* Ensuring robust governance, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Howden service standards at all times.
What We're Looking For
* A minimum of 5 years of experience providing specialist insurance advice.
* Cert CII qualified, with progression towards Dip CII.
* Strong technical knowledge across general insurance, with commercial awareness and a results‑driven mindset.
* A proven people leader who can inspire, coach, and develop others to reach their full potential.
* Confident stakeholder management skills, able to influence across all levels of the organisation and with external partners.
