To assemble, test, and inspect mechanical and electrical components and assemblies in accordance with production requirements. The role involves a range of mechanical processes including welding, brazing, and de-burring, with a strong emphasis on quality and precision.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies for both production and development products.
* Conduct inspection and testing of products, including the use of automatic test equipment.
* Ensure work meets high standards of quality through self-inspection.
* Follow detailed processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
Key Duties
* Mechanical and electrical assembly work using hand tools, machinery, and jigs/fixtures.
* Perform tasks such as welding, brazing, coil winding, soldering, encapsulation, and de-burring (training provided as needed).
* Operate equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment in line with health and safety standards.
* Meet daily and weekly production targets while ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
* Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors regarding production issues.
Qualifications & Experience
* No formal academic qualifications required; basic numeracy and literacy skills essential.
* Prior experience in a mechanical or electrical assembly environment is required.
* Must meet stringent visual acuity requirements, including colour vision and depth perception.
* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
* Ability to perform accurate self-inspection of completed work.
* Capable of reading technical drawings or work instructions (training can be provided).
* Strong team player with a proactive and flexible attitude.
Working Conditions
* Manual handling of components and materials.
* Use of PPE as required.
* May involve shift work or extended hours depending on production demand
