Overview
We're looking for a
Senior Social Media Manager, Unit Lead
to take ownership of the social content teams for some of our biggest brands,
Backpacking, Fluffy, FilmSeal, WarmUp, FootballNewz and Acknowledge AI.
This is a senior role suited to someone coming from a Senior Social Media position, with a proven track record of building audiences and delivering high-performing social content at scale.
Your focus will be
audience growth, platform and team leadership, and editorial direction
.
You'll dive into dashboards daily to assess performance, guide real-time adjustments, and set the
strategic direction for all content output on the brand
, ensuring every piece of content has the best chance to engage our audiences and attract new ones.
This is a
content-first leadership role
, working closely with editors, platform leads, and the Social Ops Lead to make sure our daily social publishing is sharp, audience-led, and primed for growth.
Core Responsibilities
* Own brand-level content strategy:
Lead daily and long-term content planning for ensuring every piece of content has clear purpose, audience alignment, and growth potential.
* Use dashboards and audience insights
to assess what's working, where there are gaps, and how to adapt strategy for maximum impact.
* Identify and capitalise on trends
, ensuring our brands stay ahead of cultural moments and platform shifts.
* Build and evolve content pillars and themes
, shaping recurring series, formats, and tentpole moments.
* Guide editorial teams:
Partner with content editors and platform managers to translate strategy into clear, actionable briefs for both long and short term content plans. Dictating t he content calendar for brands, what and when should the teams be working on around tentpole moments
* Focus on audience growth:
Balance serving existing communities with pushing into new audience segments to grow reach and engagement.
* Work closely with the Social Ops Lead
to ensure workflows, posting schedules, and content planning run smoothly and efficiently.
* Collaborate cross-platform:
Tailor strategies for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Twitter/X, optimising each channel for performance.
* Report regularly to the Head of Social
, highlighting wins, learnings, and areas for improvement across all brands.
What You Bring
* 4+ years in social media management or brand content leadership roles.
* Proven ability to grow audiences and deliver high-performing content strategies.
* Sharp instincts for storytelling, cultural relevance, and platform nuance.
* Comfortable working with dashboards and analytics to inform strategy.
* Strong collaboration skills, able to brief teams and guide execution confidently.
* Able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment with constant cultural and
* platform shifts.
Bonus If You Have
* Experience leading multi-million-follower entertainment or viral media brands.
* Background in building content playbooks or editorial frameworks for large social teams.
* Cross-market audience understanding (particularly UK and US).
* Familiarity with, social listening and insights management tools.
* Interest or experience in using Ai tools in general for content creation
