Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hillingdon, which is seeking dedicated and resilient Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join its Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) in September.
This provision supports a small group of pupils who have been identified as needing targeted support for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidates will work closely with teaching staff and therapists to help pupils build self-regulation skills, access learning, and make meaningful progress in a supportive environment.
The Role:
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant in the SRP, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs
* Support emotional regulation, communication and learning across the curriculum
* Help implement behaviour strategies and individual support plans
* Promote positive routines, structure, and independence
* Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals
* Create a safe, nurturing, and calm learning space
About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Previous experience working with primary-aged children with SEMH, ADHD or ASD
* A calm, consistent and patient approach to behaviour
* Good communication and relationship-building skills
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Team Teach training (desirable but not essential - we offer this training)
* A genuine passion for working in SEND education
