Job Purpose
To manage front of house at festival concerts, delivering excellent customer service.
Main Duties
1. Be the primary point of contact for audiences, ensuring they receive the highest standards of customer service.
2. Manage Deputy Front of House Manager during the festival.
3. Oversee a team of volunteer ushers, including briefing, duty allocation, and support during concerts.
4. Maintain the safety and cleanliness of venues through regular checks before and after events.
5. Set up venues, ensuring correct seating arrangements.
6. Coordinate with concert managers or artists regarding programme order, timings, and merchandise.
7. Create a welcoming environment and assist audience members with additional needs.
8. Respond to email inquiries about access needs and parking.
9. Manage ticket scanning and processing with ushers.
10. Oversee the sale of programmes and refreshments, reconciling cash and card payments.
11. Ensure concerts start on time and policies on late arrivals are upheld.
12. Be a qualified first aider (training provided if needed).
13. Responsibility for audience evacuation procedures in emergencies.
14. Ensure all activities comply with health and safety policies and risk assessments.
Terms and Conditions
This is a temporary freelance role during the festival period from 3-16 September 2025.
Includes training prior to the event and some preparatory work.
Rate of pay: £2400 fixed fee, based on approximately 8 hours per day over the festival duration.
Location: Venues across East Lothian. Accommodation and hire car provided if necessary.
