The Role
Our infrastructure supports systems vital to national security. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you’ll leverage your experience with mechanical and electrical systems to ensure standards are met and maintained. You may work independently, with other SMEs, or with the Technical Assurance team, overseeing our estate.
Your responsibilities could include reviewing building designs or analyzing infrastructure issues, relying on your knowledge of M&E building systems to provide technical solutions. The variety of projects means no two days are the same, and you’ll play a key role in our mission.
You might also take on line management duties for a small team, guiding and supporting team members. Extended hours may occasionally be required, compensated by overtime. Some travel within the UK and limited overseas travel should be expected.
About You
You should have a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems such as HVAC and HV/LV distribution. Ideally, you are a SME with relevant qualifications like AP electrical or mechanical. Training is available to reach the necessary level, and relevant experience coupled with qualifications like City & Guilds in electrical installation or facilities management will be considered.
You need practical experience in maintaining, installing, and assuring M&E systems, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Leadership experience in managing small teams is advantageous.
A full UK driving license is essential.
