Job Title: Procurement Purchasing Manager

Overview: Our client, a company within the automotive and manufacturing industry based in Peterborough, is seeking a Procurement Purchasing Manager to manage supplier relationships and ensure the procurement of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
2. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, both domestic and international, to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
4. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans.
5. Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and supply reliability.
6. Lead, mentor, and develop a small purchasing team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
7. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
8. Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to support new product development and other projects.
Requirements:
* Strong experience in purchasing and procurement, ideally within the automotive manufacturing or engineering industry.
* Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost management.
* Proficiency in procurement and purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Residency within a commutable distance of Peterborough.
Salary & Benefits:
* Salary: £35,000 to £40,000, dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications.
* Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
* Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays.
* Pension: Auto-enrolment scheme.
