Specialist Dentist – Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Applications are invited for a Specialist Dentist in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. This full‑time post requires 10 sessions a week; the Trust may consider a job share arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend routine outpatient clinics for new and follow‑up cases within Oral and OMFS, dealing with pathologies such as cleft, orthognathic, salivary gland, oral medicine, etc.
* Assess and perform independent minor operations under local anaesthesia for adults and children.
* Teach and supervise postgraduate trainees in exodontia and minor oral surgery.
* Assist consultants on Main and Day Surgery theatre lists, including general anaesthetic lists for surgical treatment of impacted and ectopic teeth.
* Integrate into departmental clinics, out‑patient lists and theatre work; no on‑call duties.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 3 years full‑time relevant experience post‑graduation, or equivalent.
* Full registration with the General Dental Council.
