We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer with hands-on warehouse experience to join this Manufacturing organisation based in Ashford. In this role, you'll play a key part in sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and supplies — ensuring seamless operations between procurement and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities:
* Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality procurement
* Create and manage purchase orders and procurement contracts
* Collaborate with warehouse staff to track deliveries, monitor stock levels, and plan inventory needs
* Verify incoming goods against purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor performance
* Support stock audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
* Liaise across departments to forecast demand and schedule timely deliveries
* Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies and ethical standards
Requirements:
* Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations
* Prior hands-on experience working in or closely with a warehouse environment
* Strong understanding of inventory management systems and procurement software
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ERP system experience a plus
* Qualification in procurement, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field (preferred)
This is an office based position working 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Salary is dependent on experience
