Main duties of the job
The department of Perioperative Care at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer the role of Prehabilitation Clinical Practitioner. This role is open to both nursing and allied health professionals and provides an opportunity to work with a leading centre in research and clinical expertise in perioperative care. The successful applicant will work alongside a senior multi-professional team of nurses, dietitians, anaesthetists, psychologists, physiologists, and project managers to provide expert-led prehabilitation programs for surgical patients.
Within your role, you will have the opportunity to help design the structure of prehabilitation at UHS, manage a caseload of patients, lead and manage a band 6 staff team, support and work on research projects, and represent UHS Perioperative Care on a local, national, and global stage.

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience
* Master's level or equivalent training and experience in perioperative or surgical care
* Registered Healthcare Professional on relevant part of NMC / HCPC register
* Evidence of experience and completion of all band 6 competencies within relevant specialty
* Clear understanding of professional accountability regarding autonomous practice
* Diagnosis and Decision Making qualification (Level 7)
* History taking and Physical assessment qualification
* Evidence of leading learning in practice
* Evidence of supporting colleagues to promote learning and providing an excellent learning environment
* Experience in supporting, managing, and supervising a range of learners in practice
* Registered prescriber
* Leadership qualification/training (e.g., Edward Jenner, Mary Seacole, Elizabeth Garret Anderson, Nye Bevan, LDC, RCN)
* Experience acting as a Practice Assessor or supporting learner progression and challenges
* Experience in practitioner-led care/independent practice
