HIU Engineer
Location: Glasgow & surrounding areas
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role
We are looking for experienced HIU (Heat Interface Unit) Engineer to join my clients growing team, working across Glasgow and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with a strong background in HIUs and district heating systems to take on a varied and rewarding role within a well-established and forward-thinking business.
You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of HIUs within residential and mixed-use developments, ensuring systems operate efficiently, safely, and in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of Heat Interface Units
2. Fault finding and diagnostics on HIUs, district heating, and communal heating systems
3. Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance works
4. Balancing, testing, and optimisation of heating and hot water systems
5. Completing accurate job reports and service documentation
6. Liaising professionally with clients, site managers, housing associations, and residents
7. Ensuring all works comply with current health & safety regulations
8. Supporting upgrades and system improvements where required
Requirements
9. Proven experience working with HIUs (essential)
10. Strong knowledge of district heating and communal heating systems
11. Background in mechanical, plumbing, or heating engineering
12. Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
13. Full UK driving licence
14. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
15. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
16. Good communication and customer service skills
Desirable (but not essential)
17. Experience with major HIU manufacturers
18. Previous work within residential developments or housing associations
19. Electrical fault-finding knowledge
20. L8 / water hygiene awareness
