The Role
This is an exciting development opportunity to shape the provision of English and Maths for Rotherham College, including external partners and stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
1. Operationally lead the delivery of Maths & English at RC & Offsite locations, including delivery to Adults, Apprenticeships, WBL, Flex, High Needs, and SEMH provision, both face-to-face and online.
2. Be responsible for the delivery for the subsidiaries and partners, including Rotherham United Football Club, as well as High Needs and SEMH learners.
3. Support the work of the Head of Department for English and Maths.
4. Build relationships with internal and external partners to ensure high-quality delivery of GCSE, Functional Skills, non-accredited provision, and 'Stepping Stone' qualifications.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Be a strong curriculum leader and a specialist in English and Maths.
2. Have experience managing and leading Maths and English teams, inspiring high performance.
3. Possess excellent knowledge of curriculum development, innovation, and inclusivity, on-line or face-to-face.
4. Successfully lead internal quality assurance processes, including standardisation and moderation, and work with external bodies.
5. Hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or higher), a degree or relevant qualification, and a Level 5 or higher teaching qualification, with recent CPD evidence.
6. Possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Department Info
You will be line managed by the Head of Department - Maths and English, collaborating with college and external partners. Attendance at meetings on and offsite is expected to ensure positive learner outcomes.
