Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Radiographer who is looking to join our multi‑disciplinary team at Colchester Hospital. You will work in our Interventional Radiology & Cardiac Angiography (IRCA) unit, a 24/7 service. You will perform procedures such as RIGs, portacath insertions, ureteric stents, embolisations, and urgent life‑saving procedures (EVAR, FEVAR, embolisation, thrombolysis, angioplasty). A rotational on‑call commitment is required.
The dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab runs Monday‑Friday for diagnostic coronary angiography and pacemaker implants. There is also an opportunity to rotate into CT.
As a Radiographer you will provide effective, high quality individualised care, support the team and contribute to ongoing development of radiology practice.
Main Duties
* Lead and ensure high standards of patient care at all times, in line with Trust policies and guidelines.
* Provide high quality images to radiologists, cardiologists and vascular surgeons.
* Participate in the vascular on‑call service (45 minute call‑out time).
* Deputise for area lead radiographer, taking responsibility for managing the area day‑to‑day in their absence.
* Act as point of contact for general imaging enquiries, maintaining confidentiality and seeking senior support as appropriate.
* Communicate decisions and outcomes from enquiries to the relevant senior staff member.
* Support regular review of systems, implement changes and audit to ensure maximum efficiency.
* Liaise with peers across all professional groups in the delivery of high quality patient care.

Person Specification
* Essential qualifications: Degree level or equivalent, current HCPC registration (or meets HCPC eligibility criteria for international candidates).
* Essential experience: Significant senior level experience in radiology service; previous hospital experience; supervising junior staff; utilising hospital computer systems; maintaining high standards.
* Desirable experience: Interventional Radiology (IR); Cardiac Cath Lab; Computed Tomography (CT).
