Temporary Works Design Engineer
Location: Henfield
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience

Role Overview
Design practical and safe temporary works solutions that integrate seamlessly with construction methodology and programme requirements, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and external designers.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce and review temporary works designs (shoring, propping, cofferdams, access, marine structures).
* Prepare design briefs, calculations, drawings, and risk assessments to BS 5975.
* Provide technical support to site teams, resolving design queries during delivery.
* Coordinate with Temporary Works Coordinators, subcontractors, and designers to ensure safe implementation.
* Integrate designs within overall construction sequencing and environmental constraints.
* Promote innovation, digital design (AutoCAD, BIM), and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* 3-5 years’ experience in structural or temporary works design.
* Knowledge of BS 5975, CDM 2015, and relevant design codes.
* Experience with marine, fluvial, or heritage projects advantageous.Proficient in AutoCAD and design software such as Tedds, Tekla, or similar.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
* Working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE).
* Full UK driving licence.
