Role – Maintenance Manager Position
Location – Based close to Thetford, Norfolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary – £55,000 - £60,000 per annum – depending on experience
We are pleased to be working a established and reputable organisation in our local area, they are recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to support and oversee the Maintenance Administration team, Maintenance Engineering team, and the Maintenance Key Account Manager (KAM), ensuring the department operates at the highest standard.
Will be responsible for delivering efficient service, driving operational excellence, and strengthening team capability to support ongoing and future business growth. We are looking for a results-driven leader with proven experience in managing maintenance or engineering operations, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to inspire and guide teams to success.
Key duties within the role include –
Leadership and People Management
•Providing overall leadership and direction to the Maintenance Administration and Engineering teams.
•Managing three direct reports: Senior Maintenance Coordinator, Senior Maintenance Engineer, and Maintenance Key Account Manager (KAM).
•Guiding and support the Senior Maintenance Coordinator and Senior Maintenance Engineer to ensure maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and to a high standard.
•Leading and mentor the Maintenance KAM, with a focus on developing new maintenance opportunities and driving business growth.
•To conduct regular performance reviews, offering coaching and development to direct reports and the wider team.
•Oversee recruitment, training, and ongoing professional development of all maintenance staff.
•Ensuring all maintenance personnel adhere to company policies, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Operational Management
•Oversee planning, coordination, and delivery of maintenance service visits, ensuring efficient use of resources and high customer satisfaction.
•Maintain oversight of maintenance schedules to ensure contracted services are delivered on time and in line with agreed KPIs.
•Work closely with the Senior Maintenance Coordinator to ensure maintenance activities are effectively planned, documented, and invoiced.
•Ensure clear, timely communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
•Take responsibility for weekly and monthly reporting on maintenance operations.
•Collaborate with the Senior Maintenance Engineer to provide technical support, training, and mentoring to field engineers, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
Customer Relations & Contract Management
•Act as the primary point of contact for all maintenance clients, building strong relationships and addressing service-related concerns.
•Manage maintenance contracts effectively, including monitoring SLAs, KPIs, and assisting with contract renewals or dispute resolution.
•Approve maintenance quotations, ensuring accurate pricing for remedial works and additional services.
Health, Safety & Compliance
•Ensure all maintenance operations comply with HSE regulations and company policies.
•Monitor and enforce adherence to RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), updating documentation as required.
•Lead investigations into maintenance-related incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Candidate attributes required–
•knowledge of protection systems,
•relevant industry qualifications (electrical or mechanical),
•Health & Safety certifications (NEBOSH or IOSH
•Experience in contract management and negotiation.
