CMM Inspector – Staplehurst, Kent
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum DOE
Are you an experienced CMM Inspector looking to join a forward‑thinking engineering manufacturer? Our client, a long‑established leader in specialist precision products, is expanding its Quality & Inspection team and is seeking a talented professional to join them.
You’ll support the inspection of high‑spec components used across scientific, defence and advanced engineering sectors, working with state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing and metrology technology. This is a permanent day‑shift role with excellent development potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Programme, operate and run CMM equipment
* Complete first‑article, in‑process and final inspections
* Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and GD&T
* Use manual metrology tools including micrometers and height gauges
* Produce inspection reports and quality documentation
* Identify and document non‑conformities
* Support corrective actions and continuous improvement
* Collaborate closely with production, design and engineering teams
* Maintain calibration and proper use of all measurement equipment
* Work within ISO9001 standards

Essential Skills
* Hands‑on CMM operation experience
* Strong GD&T and dimensional inspection knowledge
* Ability to read complex technical drawings
* Skilled with precision metrology tools
* Background in aerospace, defence, medical or similar industries
* Excellent attention to detail and quality focus
* Experience with ISO9001
* Strong communication and teamwork
Desirable
* CMM programming
* Experience with sheet metal or machined components
* AS9102/FAI experience
* Knowledge of optical/laser inspection systems
