Ryeland Surgery seeks one or more GPs to join ourfriendly, dynamic and supportive team. We are a market town/rural practice of19,400 patients in beautiful north Herefordshire, with a small dispensingbranch surgery.

* This role will be surgery based*
* Up to 8 sessions per week*
*Interviews are expected to be held week commencing 9th March 2026*
Main duties of the job
What we can offer you:
* 15 minutes appointments, 11 patients per surgery -3 are phone calls.
* Individual patient lists for continuity of care
* Diverse clinical team 16 GPs, ANPs, PNs, HCAs, paramedics
Strong training ethos: GP registrars, FY2s, medical students from Keele and Three Counties Medical School, student nurses
* Coffee break for all clinicians and students - an important part of our culture
* Fortnightly clinical meetings, monthly MDT meetings, practice half days
* 6 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave
* Active involvement in primary care research, with our own research nurse
* Excellent support staff. Effective care navigation to relevant clinicians
* Biannual social events for the whole team

Job responsibilities
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:
* a.The delivery of highly effective medical care to theentitled population
* b.The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
* c.Generic prescribing adhering to local and nationalguidance
* d.Effective management of long-term conditions
* e.Processing of administration in a timely manner,including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associatedadministrative tasks
* f.On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage andduty doctor roles
* g.Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction withgood practice, policy and guidance
* h.Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of thepractice workload
* i.Adhere to best practice recommended through clinicalguidelines and the audit process
* j.Contribute to the successful implementation of continuousimprovement and quality initiatives within the practice
* k.Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (orareas) or the QOF
* l.Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings asrequired
* m.Contribute effective to the development and maintenanceof the practice including; clinical governance, training, financialmanagement and HR
* n.Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
* o.Prepare and complete the revalidation process
* p.Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuingprofessional development across the practice team
* q.Support the training of medical students from allclinical disciplines
* r.Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims ofthe practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
* s.Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies atall times
* t.Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staffregularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
SecondaryResponsibilities

* a.Participate in practice audits as requested by the auditlead
* b.Participate in local initiatives to enhance servicedelivery and patient care
* c. Participate in thereview of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approachi.e. root cause analysis (RCA)

* Full GMC Registration

* Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
Clinical Knowledge & Skills
* Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP.
Qualifications
* Qualified GP
* MRCGP
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
* General Practitioner - Certificate of Completion of Training CCT.
