This Quantity Surveyor role sits within a well‑established residential groundworks business delivering foundations, roads, sewers, drainage and external works for leading housebuilders and private developers across the North West.
The Role: Groundworks Quantity Surveyor
The Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of residential groundworks schemes from pre‑start through to final account. This is a practical, site‑facing role suited to a Quantity Surveyor who understands housing infrastructure and enjoys being close to the work.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial management of residential groundworks projects
* Budget setting, cost planning and financial control
* Monthly valuations and cost value reconciliations
* Management of variations and change control
* Subcontractor procurement and account administration
* Cost forecasting and reporting to senior management
* Supporting site teams with commercial and contractual advice
* Final accounts and client liaison
Ideal Quantity Surveyor Background
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks or civil engineering
* Familiar with foundations, drainage, roads and external works
* Confident managing subcontract packages and commercial risk
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
