Role Overview


We are seeking a temporary Finance Assistant to support the finance team during a period of transition following a recent business acquisition. As part of the integration process, financial data and processes are being migrated onto our current system Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.

This role will provide key support with purchase ledger activities, bank reconciliations, and invoice processing to ensure continuity and accuracy of financial operations during the transition period.


This role would be hybrid- home based 3 or 4 days a week, with 1-2 days in our Alcester office.



Key Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger

* Raise and process purchase orders
* Post supplier invoices and credit notes
* Assist with supplier statement reconciliations
* Support weekly and monthly supplier payment runs
* Resolve supplier queries

Bank & Transaction Processing

* Perform regular bank reconciliations
* Import and process invoices into the finance system
* Assist with transaction matching and reconciliation activities

Finance Operations Support

* Support data entry and validation during the migration to Business Central
* Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
* Assist with month-end processes where required

Additional Finance Duties (as required)

* Provide support with VAT submissions
* Assist with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) reporting where applicable
* Support basic payroll administration tasks
* Provide general administrative support to the finance team


Skills & Experience

* Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or Purchase Ledger role
* Experience processing purchase orders, invoices, and supplier payments
* Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Comfortable working with financial systems and Excel
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (or similar ERP systems) would be advantageous

* Flexible and willing to assist with a range of finance tasks
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment during a systems transition
