Our CTC Outpatients service has a fantastic opportunity for a Patient Pathway Assistant to join its warm and friendly team to work within a specific clinical area to support the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
You will support the CTC Outpatient Manager / Senior Patient Pathway Assistant in providing administrative support including receptionist duties to all clinical staff within the clinical area including Consultants, Nurse Specialists and Junior Doctors.
Your role will also support the CTC Outpatient Manager / Senior Patient Pathway Assistant, clinical team and other divisional managers in ensuring the speciality are able to deliver safe and effective services whilst also ensuring compliance with contractual access targets e.g. the 18 weeks Referral to Treatment target.
You will provide cross‑cover for other Patient Pathway Assistants to ensure a consistent and effective administration service is maintained at all times.
Main duties of the job
In your role you will be the first point of contact to action any queries for patients and staff.
* Use EPR to book patients in for clinic attendance
* Use EPR to book follow up appointments
* Understand the 18‑week Pathway
* Dealing with patient queries on the telephones
* Scanning and filing of paperwork
* To be flexible in day‑to‑day admin duties
Your role will involve supporting the delivery of administrative processes along the patient pathway to ensure the patient's journey is managed efficiently, smoothly and in accordance with targets and agreed timescales and utilise computerised tracking systems to locate case notes and investigation results.
For your role you will need to demonstrate high levels of customer care and be an ambassador for customer care within the trust, act as the communication hub for the clinical team and support the Patient Pathway Co‑ordinator/Administrator in dealing with and recording all concerns/complaints coming into the department, both on the telephone and in writing, escalating as appropriate.
