Are you a motivated, proactive individual ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a dedicated team player to join our Radiology Assistants Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop valuable skills within a supportive NHS setting, but please note, this role will require resilience, adaptability, computer skills and a general willingness to learn. The role requires you to work cross-site weekly and you will need access to transport flexibly to work at our community sites.
The role involves direct patient contact and communication with colleagues across the Imaging Suite and wider hospital departments.
Responsibilities
* Providing reassurance and support to patients
* Assisting with changing
* Preparing patients for CT and MRI examinations
* Undertaking IV cannulation
* Supporting Ultrasound and pain relief clinics
* Working within general X-ray
* Carrying out clerical tasks using departmental computer systems
IV cannulation is a core, non negotiable requirement of this post. Candidates must be willing and able to learn this skill as part of their role. Comprehensive training and supervised practice will be provided, and applicants should consider this expectation carefully before applying.
You must be able to work in the MRI environment i.e. no pacemaker or other implanted metal devices that prevent entry to an area of strong magnetic fields.
