This is an exciting opportunity to join our transformation journey as a Commissioning Transformation Project Support Officer working within our Better Together transformation portfolio. We are seeking a highly skilled individual to play a key role in supporting the delivery of new transformational models of care for Powys residents as part of our Better Together journey, with a focus on adult Physical and Mental Health Community Services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a pivotal member of the team and as such will be involved in developing project documentation, business cases, stakeholder engagement and Board-level reports and presentations.
The post holder will work closely with operational and corporate services and will be responsible for ensuring reporting requirements are co-ordinated and meet the needs of the Better Together portfolio and that updates to multiple detailed plans are managed effectively; and utilise highly developed administrative, time management and organisational skills to ensure the Better Together Programme delivers against a backdrop of challenging timescales and conflicting priorities.
Job responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for defined areas of the Better Together Programme including reporting, ensuring queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently, identifying and handling sensitive and confidential issues appropriately, including commercially sensitive information.
* Build strong communication links and key working relationships with external organisations such as Health Focus Groups, Llais, campaign groups, Councillors and others as required.
* Support and maintain the development of open communication channels so that information is shared with the appropriate members of staff to support and facilitate programme development.
* Support the development and improvement of key performance indicators / reports.
* Present to Better Together Programme Board and work streams oral updates on progress against plan, urgent matters requiring escalation and both narrative and data in written form including financial information, feedback and learning from stakeholders and events, and updated project documentation.
* Monitor and update programme development plans against timescales and deadlines and in line with cycle of work stream, working autonomously to make adjustments to plans as required, ensuring that all changes are passed through appropriate approval mechanisms.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* 'Improving Quality Together' or equivalent service improvement (outside NHS Wales)
Experience
* Supporting projects ideally within the NHS or a public sector organisation
* User of IT packages including Microsoft Office Suite, e.g Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ECDL
* Compiling and providing high quality, professional written reports
* Developing presentation materials
* Working with stakeholders across several agencies
* Working successfully as part of a team
* Collating and updating large amounts of detailed information
Skills and Attributes
* Evidence of taking an innovative approach to problem solving
* Demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others
* Work under pressure to tight deadlines and prioritise workload
* 'Think on one's feet' and respond to many differing pressures
* Minute taking skills
* Proven work record of consistently achieving high standard and delivering objectives and priorities
