We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Carpentry Supervisor to join our on-site Timber framing factory in Welshpool on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Factory Manager, in this position you will be responsible for overseeing daily carpentry operations on-site, coordinate a team of 10 staff, manage timelines and workflows, as well as ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. This role offers a great opportunity for someone with leadership experience and a strong trade background to step into a key position.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and lead a team on construction of base frames and headboards
* Ensure work is completed to specification, safely and efficiently
* Manage materials, tools and equipment on-site
* Monitor progress of the program and report to Factory Manager
* Train, lead and mentor junior carpenters/timber framers
* Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are available, used correctly, and stored appropriately.
* Enforce health and safety compliance at all times
Key Qualifications
* Trade qualification in Carpentry (Cert III or equivalent)
* Proven experience as a Carpenter with leadership experience (3 years+ preferred)
* Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials and use of appropriate tools.
* Ability to read production programs and coordinate labour to achieve production targets.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Strong problem-solving abilities, proactively address challenges, provide solutions, and report progress to management
* Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous, but is not crucial.
