A distributor of various products requires a Product Development Engineer to create a new test area to increase quality across all their brands. The ideal candidate will have a background in Mechanical or electrical and worked in a similar role where a product is sent from a manufacturer and is tested on its durability for the end user market.

The Role
Reporting into the Quality Assurance Manager you will have the following duties:
- Work within the Quality Assurance team to support product research and development, assessing performance, functionality, and trends in returned products.
- Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards and internal procedures, including the operation of life testing equipment.
- Provide ongoing support for the existing product portfolio, investigating and resolving identified issues.
- Manage workload in line with business priorities, ensuring all product samples are tested within agreed timeframes.
- Assist in the design and development of test equipment and testing procedures.
- Conduct benchmarking and testing of competitor products as required.
The Person
Educated to HND level in a relevant technical discipline you will have the following experience:
- Strong hands-on mechanical and/or electrical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with a focus on maintaining a safe and tidy workspace.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with good overall IT literacy.
- Proactive and enthusiastic, with a “can-do” attitude and ability to see tasks through to completion.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Experience with pneumatic and mechanical systems is advantageous.
