Chef – Derwentside IRC
Salary: £29,925.00 – £31,421.25
Rota: 10-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off

Serco is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our catering team at Derwentside Immigration Removal Centre. You’ll be part of a high-performing operation that provides varied, nutritious, and culturally sensitive meals every day in a secure and professional environment.
What You'll Do
* Deliver high-quality catering services in line with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
* Create diverse menus that meet dietary, religious, and cultural needs
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring standards are met and maintained
* Lead with innovation, professionalism, and a drive for continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
* City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or equivalent NVQ in food prep and production
* Level 3 Food Safety certification and strong HACCP/Allergen awareness
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a large-scale catering environment
* A team player with leadership skills, resilience, and a proactive mindset
