Your Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Platform Engineer to join our team in Manchester, UK, for a full-time hybrid role. As a Platform Engineer, you will work on continuous integration, development, build, and deployment using automation and cloud technologies to support DevOps tooling growth.
Your Profile
* Proven leadership in designing and maintaining Kubernetes-based platform solutions, with expertise in cluster orchestration, performance tuning, and team guidance.
* Extensive knowledge of Docker, Terraform, and modern CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins), enabling seamless application delivery and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
* Proficient in architecting and supporting solutions on cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
* Skilled in version control using Git, with experience in advanced Git workflows; familiar with build tools like Maven and NPM for dependency and artifact management.
* Experience implementing service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) and container networking tools like Calico for secure and efficient service communication.
* Strong scripting and automation skills using Linux shell scripting and Python, improving operational efficiency.
* Exposure to mobile CI/CD pipelines for Android and iOS, supporting unified delivery platforms across systems.
* Hands-on experience with WebSphere Application Server administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with an analytical approach to resolving complex platform issues.
