Early Years Group Leader - Summer - Ely, Cambridgeshire
Hours of work: 08:30 - 17:30
Salary: £421.52 - £628.71 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
(Contracts for February Half Term to be issued at 2023 wage level. 2024 wage level effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Early Years Manager, Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office

Early Years Group Leader Duties
1. Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
2. Assist with setting up and maintaining an inviting and tidy base room for children, ensuring all equipment is stored properly.
3. Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for children.
4. Adhere to the activity timetable to deliver a variety of sessions as promised.
5. Collaborate with team members to deliver sessions.
6. Act as the children's Key Worker, managing communication about their experiences.
7. Ensure children's needs are met through active supervision and attention, including during breaks and lunch.
8. Use available resources to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities.
9. Encourage maximum participation while following OFSTED guidelines.
10. Get to know children as individuals and incorporate their interests into activities.
11. Take responsibility for general welfare and safeguarding.
12. Ensure the safe use of equipment during sessions.
13. Facilitate development through Explore and Play sessions.
Requirements
1. Working towards or holding a relevant childcare qualification.
2. Knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
3. Age 18 or over by the start date.
4. Eligibility to work in the UK.
5. Provision of satisfactory references.
6. Enthusiastic, caring, organized, with excellent communication skills and initiative.
7. Ability to adapt to unpredictable challenges in childcare.
8. Enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or existing on the Update Service.
9. Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
10. Complete annual online training.
11. Attend an induction training day before camp opens.
12. Assist with camp pack-up at the end.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Follow health and safety protocols diligently.
2. Organize activities suitable to your qualifications and knowledge.
3. Encourage children to try new activities as per the timetable.
4. Supervise children to ensure safe behavior, know their whereabouts, and promote positive behavior.
5. Follow all camp systems, including registration, collection, and safety procedures.
6. Promote a healthy lifestyle and good hygiene as a positive role model.
7. Report concerns about child protection to senior staff or designated persons.
8. Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs.
9. Support delivery of Skills Builder sessions if available.
10. Support swimming sessions, bringing swimwear and spare T-shirts.
11. Perform other duties as required within your role.
