Job Summary
If you’re an enthusiastic and pro-active project manager or project support officer looking for a role working across a varied programme of work to improve cancer services for our patients, you are encouraged to apply for the Deputy Service Transformation Manager post. You will join the Service Transformation Team for the Networked Services division at The Christie, who are the support function for all services in the division including Medical/Clinical Oncology, Haematology, Pharmacy, SACT, Radiotherapy, Outpatients, Medical Physics & Engineering, and Nursing.
Main duties of the job
* Complete project documentation and reporting; create and amend process maps (often live via MS Teams or face to face); arrange and attend meetings; lead project meetings; present to stakeholders; take notes and distribute actions post-meeting.
* Conduct pre/post implementation data analysis; arrange engagement events and/or training/education sessions; deputise for Transformation Leads and provide detailed updates; support the division with ad hoc tasks as required.
* Produce and maintain project governance documentation and templates; develop a project administration system to track actions and ensure on-time delivery; refine tracking tools as necessary.
* Produce routine and complex reports and presentations using Trust data; manage spreadsheets/databases and ensure timely distribution.
* Lead and support departmental process improvement initiatives; coordinate communications planning for projects; ensure procurement and schemes of delegation adhere to local financial instructions.

Responsibilities and duties
* Deputise for the Divisional Transformation Lead(s) and Manager where required.
* Apply project management methodology and the Trust’s toolkit to deliver objectives (time, cost, quality, risk management, benefits realisation, milestones, evaluation).
* Lead and coordinate project teams to deliver on timescales and realise identified benefits.
* Produce high-quality reports and plans; chair groups, manage meetings, plan agendas, distribute papers, and maintain action, risk, and project plans.
* Attend and support Trust meetings; present project objectives and requirements clearly; communicate with a range of stakeholders.
* Develop and manage project plans, risk/issue logs, benefits plans and communication plans; map processes and analyse complex information for projects and reports.
* Monitor and evaluate changes in practice; collect data, support post-implementation review and knowledge transfer.
* Identify and manage interdependencies with other projects and provide regular progress updates to boards.
Qualifications
Essential
* A relevant degree level qualification plus postgraduate qualification, or equivalent experience
* Willingness to undertake additional training and qualifications for the role as required
Desirable
* Lean Six Sigma/Improvement methodology qualifications
* APM or other Project Management qualifications

* Experience in a PMO/transformation environment managing and supporting a portfolio of projects
* Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
* Experience writing complex reports for diverse audiences including senior management
* Experience planning and managing using structured project management methodology

* Experience delivering service improvement and training
