Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Service Engineer on behalf of a leading injection moulding machine supplier to join their established team.
Remit
* Strong electro‑mechanical maintenance or service engineering background with several years’ experience working with injection moulding machinery.
* Suitable for current or previous Service Engineers or Maintenance Engineers looking to move into a Service Engineer role.
* All applicants must be electro‑mechanically experienced and have a good working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Responsibilities
* Take care of the service, installation, start‑up, commissioning and training of injection moulding machines, automation and associated equipment supplied to customers throughout the UK and Ireland.
* Provide a professional and efficient after‑sales service to company’s customers.
* Perform service support on the company products, transmitting technical information and general guidance on the use of equipment, in order to obtain maximum productivity.
* Diagnose problems, analyse and seek solutions to failures detected, performing disassembly, adjustment and assembly, providing replacement of parts and / or nonconforming sets, in order to correct the problems found and ensure proper functioning.
* Prepare technical reports on processes, technologies, inputs and materials used, in order to provide input for appropriate actions to improve products and services.
* Participate in meetings (internal / external) with other internal areas and customers, aiming to solve problems about product performance.
* Promote institutionally and technically the products, processes and technologies, in order to establish competitive conditions for the image of the company and its products in the market in which it operates.
* Regular travel will be required the working week, a company car will be provided for business use, accommodation and subsistence expenses will be covered by the company.
* Benefit from an initial training and coaching phase, where the successful candidate will shadow members of the current engineering team.
Experience Requirements
* Experience and technical understanding of injection moulding machines is essential.
* Apprentice trained or equivalent industry recognised qualification.
* 17th or 18th Edition electrical regulations certification is essential.
* Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting.
* Excellent communication skills & a professional manner.
* Self‑motivated, reliable and able to work unsupervised.
* All candidates must be flexible as travel is required throughout the UK and Ireland.
