EMRI Languages Lead
The closing date is 17 June 2026
At the Ethnic Minority Research Inclusion (EMRI) network we believe for health and care research to be effective we need representation from all communities, in all different types of research, so we know that if something works, it works for everyone.
We’ve developed our work programme and priorities based on what the research community and local communities have told us, aiming to make research more accessible and open.
Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) are proud to host the EMRI Network. Previously hosted by the National Institute for Health and Care (NIHR) Yorkshire and Humber Research Delivery Network (RDN), EMRI is a regional initiative dedicated to improving the inclusivity of research across our communities. Its mission is to ensure that people from all backgrounds, particularly those historically under‑represented, have better opportunities to participate in, shape, and benefit from health and care research.
We are looking for someone to lead the Languages Programme of work.
Main duties of the job
The Languages Lead at EMRI is responsible for developing, overseeing, and future planning all work related to ensuring that both written and spoken language is accessible to people from ethnic minority backgrounds. Yorkshire is home to a wide range of spoken languages, including Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic, and Polish, to name just a few, and this role plays a key part in ensuring EMRI’s language provision reflects this diversity and responds to ever changing community needs.
The Languages Lead will work closely with the EMRI Hub Leads for South, East and West Yorkshire to ensure the language and dialect needs of the region are met and developed.
