Job Description
Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our Belfast client who are currently recruiting for a full time and permanent Legal Bookkeeper.
Working closely with the Partners of the firm, you will be responsible for assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of a busy solicitor's firm's finance department.
Applicants are preferred to have worked in a legal setting but not essential as other bookkeepers will be considered - the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of invoicing, finance, book-keeping.
Duties
* Ensuring all finance records are up to date & accurate on the firm's finance system.
* Reconciling bank statements
* Accurate and timely processing and recording of incoming and outgoing payments
* Receiving customer payments in person and over the telephone
* Liaising with suppliers and payment of supplier invoices
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns via legal accounts software
* Checking & posting bills & invoice
* Liaising with the firm's accountant to assist in their preparation of statutory returns
Criteria:
* Previous experience within a bookkeeping role is essential
* Good grasp of basic accounting standards and financial processes
* Good communicator with the ability to work well in a team
* Competent on Microsoft Office Suite
