Description
As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for resources associated with the repair and maintenance of the clean water network across specific network areas for our client.
You will supervise operational repair and maintenance support to resolve issues such as poor supplies, no water, leaks, and water quality issues. Activities include repairing burst mains, leak repair, stop tap repairs, installation of equipment, investigations, and tracing supplies. You will provide operational leadership, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to our client’s expectations. Customer service is critical to the client, and satisfaction is measured through the C-MeX regulatory measure.
You will work with the scheduling team to ensure repair and maintenance work is delivered on time and communicate with customers impacted by our work as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational supervisory responsibility for water repair and maintenance teams and their daily activities
* Organise labour cost-effectively, including recruitment, disciplinary action, wages, and absence management
* Manage resources such as materials and plant
* Ensure accurate recording of work undertaken, including photographs and meter asset details
* Visit teams regularly at local site level to review progress and performance and ensure standards are met
* Conduct team briefings monthly; coach and develop repair and maintenance teams
* Complete team inspections focusing on quality and right first-time operational delivery
* Act as a Health & Safety Representative, conducting inspections, raising safety matters, and investigating incidents
Experience and Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications, e.g., NRWSA at supervisory level
* Health & Safety qualification (advantage)
* Experience in utilities sector
* Supervisor Street Works qualification
* Deep excavation knowledge and experience
* Good verbal communication skills
* Strong management skills
* Financial and commercial awareness
* Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Excel and Word
* Full UK driving licence
