Are you an experienced contracts manager, paralegal, or similar role within an in-house legal team? Do you have solid experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and exposure to GDPR and other global data protection laws? We are looking for a Contracts Manager to join our Global Legal function. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel, you’ll be providing timely and flexible commercial transaction support across a range of areas of law (including Contract/Commercial, IP/IT and Data Protection and AI). You will be a trusted partner to our commercial colleagues aiding commercial transactions while guiding on legal risk and regulatory compliance.

What you will be doing:
1. Assisting the business to maximise revenue streams and profitability opportunities by pro-actively negotiating favourable terms & conditions of high value.
2. Reviewing and negotiating Terms & Conditions, MSAs, SaaS Agreements, DPAs, RFPs and other types of agreements, providing advice and solutions.
3. Be involved in GDPR contractual negotiations, including reviews of data processing agreements and supporting GDPR compliance projects across the business.
4. Working with business stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations can be met and assisting the commercial teams with tender responses.
5. Assisting with legal training and development to aid the SHL business and the team, including providing guidance to junior legal team members.
6. Helping with and undertaking ad hoc projects as required.
7. Partnering closely with Revenue Recognition, Finance, Sales, Product, Infosec and Compliance teams to ensure seamless contract execution and risk management.

What we are looking for from you:
Essential:
9. 2:1 degree or equivalent, ideally law, computer science, psychology or business
10. Significant experience of contracts management within an inhouse legal department.
11. Strong business acumen and experience to advise on business-related legal issues.
12. Data privacy matters, policies and contractual implications.
13. Experience of collaborating with external counsel.
Desirable:
14. Strong legal negotiation and drafting experience, technical know how
15. Can provide timely, practical and commercially focused advice
16. Planning and Organisational skills
17. Excellent Written and Oral Communication
