Position Details
* Role: Lunch Site Support
* Location: Newmead Farm, Maiden Bradley, Wiltshire BA12 7HJ
* Salary: £13.25 per hour
* Hours: From 15 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Rota TBC
* Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
* Driving: Full UK Driving Licence required
* Start: November 2025
* Age Requirement: Over 18’s only due to lone working
About the Role
As the Lunch Site Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and care, ensuring pupils and staff enjoy safe, nutritious meals in a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve breakfast, breaktime, and lunchtime meals to pupils and staff
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
* Manage stock, place food orders, and monitor supplies
* Comply with Health & Safety, food safety, and hygiene legislation
* Support pupil care by being aware of allergies and following safeguarding procedures
* Undertake additional cleaning tasks to maintain overall standards
* Assist in minor first aid incidents under the guidance of the registered first aider
* Contribute positively to the school environment as part of the team
Person Specification
* Knowledge of food safety, COSHH, and cleaning best practices
* Flexible, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team
* Good personal hygiene and ability to follow instructions
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Physically capable of carrying out manual tasks, including lifting
* Willingness to undertake training and adapt to school needs
About Us
Wessex Lodge School currently comprises of three sites: Wessex Lodge Primary School located in Kilmington, Wessex Lodge Secondary School located in Frome, and Newmead Farm, located in Maiden Bradley. All sites allow students the opportunity to explore the curriculum alongside a range of subject paths, including animal care, horticulture, DT, and forest school, as well as sporting activities. Our students are aged between 6 and 18 years old and each has individual needs supported by the THRIVE approach and a range of practitioner‑led services.
