Job Overview
The postholder will be an ABSDAS (Aneurin Bevan Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service) Specialty Doctor covering the catchment area of North Gwent services based in Maindiff Court Hospital, Abergavenny. The area will cover Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire and Torfaen.
They will work alongside the existing Consultant Psychiatrist for ABSDAS and together will provide medical input to the community Drug and Alcohol services across North Gwent.
They will positively respond to requests from Team Members who need advice in the day-to-day management of adult patents in any setting within the borough and contribute to the development of adult mental health services.
Main duties of the job
This is a 6-session serving adults residing in the borough of North Gwent (Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire and Torfaen). The post holder will be based in the picturesque setting of Maindiff Court Hospital, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
Integral responsibilities of the post will include the provision of a high-quality service and to provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty. To sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriate. To undertake all work in accordance with the Health Boards procedures and operating policies. To conduct clinical practice in accordance with the contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Divisions and Health Boards service plans.
