Are you a detail-loving Legal Officer (Known internally as Paralegal) with a passion for making a real difference? If you've got experience in civil litigation (especially housing law), and want to use your legal knowledge to support communities and make tenancies fairer and stronger this could be just the role for you.
Join our corporate team as a Legal Officer, where you’ll work closely with senior leadership and our in-house team, playing a key role in tenancy and leasehold casework. What you’ll be doing
A few of the key things you’ll be getting involved in:
* Managing and supporting tenancy and leasehold casework (possession, disrepair, ASB, service charges)
* Working closely with our in-house legal team on disrepair claims and pre-action protocols
* Interviewing colleagues and drafting legal documents
* Advising the business on tenancy law and managing a varied caseload
* Preparing settlement offers and liaising with resident solicitors
* Supporting case meetings and helping assess quantum in disrepair claims
What we’re looking for:
You don’t need to know it all we’ll support your growth. But here’s what would help you hit the ground running:
* At least 1 year’s experience as a Legal Officer/Paralegal (ideally in civil litigation or housing law)
* A Law degree or CILEx qualification, or strong relevant experience in a similar role
* A natural problem-solver with a calm, analytical mindset
* Solid understanding of housing-related legislation and sector issues
* Comfortable speaking with colleagues across the business, and confident managing your own workload
