* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and machinery
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production equipment
* Install, maintain, and test electrical systems and components
* Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals
* Carry out emergency breakdown repairs to minimise downtime
* Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations (e.g. Electricity at Work Regulations)
* Work with mechanical fitters and other engineers to resolve issues
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in electrical maintenance within industrial or manufacturing environments
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of PLC systems (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley) is often preferred
* Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
* Good understanding of health & safety practices
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar (e.g. NVQ Level 3)
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – desirable or required
* Apprenticeship in electrical engineering – highly valued
* City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent
Working Conditions
* Typically based in factories, plants, or industrial sites
* May involve shift work, on-call duties, or overtime
* Work may include exposure to noise, machinery, and confined spaces
